Colorado-based solar company unveils new identity, prepares to launch production

03.24.2009 —Denver, CO – Monigle Associates, a Denver-based agency that helps clients nationwide
build and activate brands, announced today that it has developed a new name and identity
for the prominent and well-known solar company, AVA Solar. Based in Northern
Colorado, AVA Solar is now known as Abound Solar.

Abound Solar, widely recognized as one of the top companies emerging in the growing
renewable energy sector, is a manufacturer of cost effective, thin-film photovoltaic (PV)
modules that convert energy from the sun into electricity. By developing a robust,
commercial-scale, continuous process for producing PV modules, Abound Solar is able
to significantly reduce the cost of generating solar electricity.

Making the transition from startup to operations, Abound Solar needed a strong and
memorable brand to complement its innovative process and position itself as the leader in
the solar industry. “The new identity of Abound Solar positions the company as the
source for renewable, abundant and universally affordable energy,” notes Pascal
Noronha, Abound Solar’s Chief Executive Officer. “It helps to declare our readiness to
meet the growing demand for solar power.”

The positioning reinforces the company’s problem-solver mentality for developing an
achievable solution to the world’s energy challenges. The new name and logo were
derived from the abundance of solar energy and the infinite possibilities of harnessing the
sun’s energy.

Abound Solar looked to Monigle Associates, who has had success working with a
number of highly visible start-up companies, to develop the complete brand program that
included positioning, a new name, identity, and web site development.
